ABOUT US

About The Owner

I moved to the mountains of WNC at the age of 21 when I first laid eyes on the incredible Great Smoky Mountains in Cherokee. As a young man at the time I lived "off grid" for four years in a log cabin on the Qualla Boundary , caretaking a cabin for a Cherokee family. Since then I have successfully raised four children with my partner. Love of nature and all it has to offer us has been deeply instilled in me from an early age and was greatly reinforced by that experience. I have since spent my life in various ways on two major pursuits. The first one being a conscientious developer , creating communities where people can enjoy living in these amazing mountains as much as I have. I have created four “co-operative’’ land investment opportunities that are completed. Big Laurel Mountain and Solstice Mountain in Madison County , Katuah in Cherokee,, and Idlywild in Buncombe County. The second being spiritual development through several avenues including being a Breathworker, Loving Relationships Trainer , and Ordained Ministerial Counselor. Currently I am primarily committed to two projects, each unique in their own way, that are a culmination of all my lifelong dreams, desires, and learning. Olivette Riverside Community and Farm in Asheville is an award winning community that is the areas first and only true Agrihood. The second is Paint Rock Farm in Hot Springs NC, a mostly "off the grid” Glamping retreat, farm, wedding and event venue, and 111 acre conservation forest. Now more than ever humanity is experiencing the consequences of ignoring how we are abusing our relationship with nature while at the same time experiencing how much we need nature for our own sustenance, recovery, and healing. “Let Nature Be your Medicine”.
